This site works without accounts. This page explains what we actually store, why, and for how long.
What we store
- Content you create: titles, questions, options, image links and settings of drafts and polls. Anyone with a poll link can see its questions and aggregated results.
- Submissions: the options chosen in each submission. Results are only shown in aggregate; we don't show who voted for what.
- Participant email (only if the creator turns it on): the email you enter is stored with your submission and shown to the creator who holds the management link. We don't email you, use it for marketing, or verify it.
- Browser cookie: a random ID named
opm_vid, kept for 180 days, so each browser can submit once per poll. It contains no personal information. - Keyed hash of your IP address: stored with drafts, polls and reports to enforce limits against abuse. We don't store raw IP addresses; short-term rate-limit counters live only in server memory.
- Reports: the reason, details and optional contact you submit when reporting a poll, used only by the site operator to handle the report.
What stays in your browser
Unfinished poll content is kept in your browser for 7 days and unsubmitted answers for 24 hours, so you can restore them after a refresh. They are not uploaded unless you save a draft or submit. Emails, verification tokens and management links are never stored locally.
Third parties
- Cloudflare Turnstile verifies that a person is publishing or submitting. Cloudflare processes that request data under its own privacy policy.
- External images in polls are loaded by your browser directly from other websites, which receive your IP address and browser details. We don't send the referring page, and we don't proxy or store those images.
- Hosting and database: data is stored with the cloud database provider we use.
We don't run ads or third-party analytics scripts, and we don't sell data.
How long we keep data
- Server drafts expire 24 hours after creation and are deleted within the following 24 hours.
- Polls are open for 30 days (or until closed). Results are kept for 90 days after closing, then deleted.
- When a poll is deleted, its questions, submissions, answers and emails are removed from the main database. A record without content is kept for 30 days to show that the poll is unavailable.
- Reports are kept for 30 days after they are handled, and at most 90 days if never handled.
- Backups kept by our database provider may contain deleted data for a limited time; if we ever restore a backup, we re-apply deletions.
Your choices
You can clear your browser's cookies and local storage at any time. Creators can delete a poll with its management link. To ask us to remove an email you submitted, or for any other question, use the contact page.
